What sets The Lodge above the rest? Several unique characteristics make The Lodge the premiere destination for events in the Lake County region. The Lodge offers a picturesque lakeside location with ample parking for large groups. Peter and Maryann pay close attention to the details in event options and menus. Finally, parties at The Lodge sparkle with unique touches and extraordinary service.
A Lakeside Setting
The Lodge is the only Lake County resort offering modern guest rooms along with a full convention center. Located on the shores of Upper Blue Lake, a stunning mountain ringed body of water, The Lodge offers 21 stylish rooms, and can serve 50-250 for special events.
Maryann takes pride in preparing the best options for event menus. She’s constantly researching food and beverage trends through her international network, as well as visiting nearby Napa, Sonoma and San Francisco eateries. As world travelers, Peter and Maryann take inspiration from their trips abroad, as well. Maryann has cultivated a taste that reflects leading edge trends. When developing new dishes, she works with her chef to execute a Taste Panel, a food tasting for 6-10 people to evaluate items for the menu. Only the best reach The Lodge’s menus. As a step above and beyond, Maryann takes care to accommodate those with food allergies and other special requests. Have a special request? Ask for more information when you book your event.
A Grand Entrance
The “Ultimate Wedding” package, one of three offered, is the most popular. “What makes this unique and exciting is that the bride arrives by boat.” says Maryann. “Admiral” Peter picks up the bride and her entourage from the dock of a neighboring resort (Pine Acres). Maryann describes the reaction: “When guests see her approaching on the boat, they clap–and even cry–with joy.” It’s just one example of the attention to event details Peter and Maryann offer.
Room to Grow
For several seasons, the Lodge has hosted a Christmas party for the Mendocino Community Health Clinic, which serves Mendocino and Lake counties. As their staff grows, so does the size of their event. For this year’s Christmas party, The Lodge welcomed 350 guests (a huge increase from 250 last year). To accommodate the number, they added tents, and kept the area warm by setting up portable gas heaters throughout. For an extra measure of warmth, Maryann converted the trellises and deck into a temporary outbuilding. “We served 350 people in just 30 minutes with 2 buffet stations and 28 staff. And I lost my voice at the end of the event–I was like a General giving orders to the team!” Maryann is hands-on in her role as events lead, personally making sure each event is a success.
