Boat Rentals

You may reserve boats online, via phone, or in person. To book online, simply click on the boat you’d like to rent from our boats page and follow the next steps.

A security deposit of USD $500 will be collected at the time of departure. We accept debit/ credit cards as well as cash for the deposit. Please be aware that your deposit will be released depending on your bank’s policy, which may take up to 7 business days. Please plan accordingly.

If the boat requires extra cleaning upon return, e.g. litter, mud or damage, etc., we will need to collect extra cleaning fees from your security deposit. To avoid extra charges, we encourage guests to thoroughly clean up before returning boat rentals.

Boat rentals begin at 8:00 AM daily. All boats must be returned to docks before sunset. Our final departure time varies depending on the season. Our general rule of thumb is that departures are allowed until two hours prior to sunset.

Since our boats are electric, they need to be charged. To use one of our boats for longer than six hours we recommend renting the Admiral Peter, Magic, Blue Lakes Paradise, New Orca, Party Time, Electric Cat, and Electric Duffy. Please see our Boats page for more information.

We have different boats with different weight capacities. Refer to our Boats section for maximum weight capacities. Keep in mind the weight of ice coolers and fishing gear are included in weight capacities.

Yes, children will be counted towards the maximum number of passengers. Infants up to 2 years old are generally not counted.

Yes, we allow a maximum of two (2) dogs up to 50 lbs on board our boats for an extra fee of $25 per dog. We do not allow inner tubes and floats to be pulled behind our boats. It’s not safe and can damage the boat. Guests will be liable to pay the cost of damage if the rope gets stuck in the boat’s propeller.

We do not have a public boat launch, however, we can recommend another resort that you may be able to launch from. For small watercrafts such as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, hotel guests and day users are allowed to launch from our docks, provided they are able to transport the vessel from the parking lot to the docks via the breezeway by the main office.

We do not offer docking of personal boats or other watercraft.

Boat renters, who wish to stay after their boat rental time is completed, may buy Day Use Passes at $25 per person and/or per dog to stay longer and enjoy the amenities of the resort.

Fishing

Absolutely! California offers three varieties of fishing licenses: the one-day permit, which costs $17.02; the two-day, which is valid for residents and non-residents and costs $26.49; and the 10-day, which is suitable for non-resident anglers only, which costs $49.94.

Yes. Every individual who is 16 years old above is required to have a valid fishing license when catching any fish, shellfish, reptile, or amphibian in California. You can avail yourself of the one-day fishing permit through CDFW’s Automated License Data System https://www.ca.wildlifelicense.com/internetsales

However, the California Department of Wildlife and Fishery declared July 3, 2021, and September 4, 2021, as Free Fishing Days. We invite you to pick up a rod, head out to Blue Lakes and take advantage of these said days because you can fish without a sport fishing license.

If you’re just on holiday vacation and would like to try fishing, you could avail yourself of Short Term Sport Fishing Licenses. If you’re looking to fish all year long, you might as well avail any of the Annual Sport Fishing Licenses.

You can acquire any of the licenses at a California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) office, through an authorized license sales office, or online through CDFW’s Automated License Data System.

The Lodge at Blue Lakes only offers boat rentals. We require you to bring your fishing equipment.
