Hotel Rates & Policies
The maximum number of people that can stay in a room is dependent on the number of beds in the room. Please see the chart below for the base occupancy and maximum occupancy. There is a $25 fee plus tax per additional person (3 years and older) over and above the base occupancy per night.

We welcome your well-behaved dogs (maximum of 2 per room) of 50 lbs or less at a $35 + tax fee per dog per night. For dogs from 50 to 75 lbs maximum weight, the fee will be $70 + tax fee per dog per night. Due to our insurance policy we are unable to accept the following purebreds and mixed breeds: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Presa Canario, Cane Corso, Mastiffs, Bull Dogs, Chows, and Akita.
Yes, you can invite people to visit you. Each visitor will need to secure a Day Use Pass, which is $25 per person or dog. If your guest stays with you overnight, they will be subject to room charges, which is $25 + tax fee per person over and above the base occupancy.
Yes, a security deposit of a minimum of USD $200 per room is required upon check-in. You will be asked to submit a credit card or debit card of your choice for authorization hold. Upon check-out the hold will be voided provided that no damage to the room or room amenities was sustained. The amount will be released by your bank up to 7 days depending on your bank’s policy. You may also submit your deposit in cash; however, please be aware that we will not be able to return cash deposits until our office re-opens at 8:00am. If you will be departing outside of office hours, we do not recommend cash deposits.
We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We do not hold reservations for payment on arrival, and are only able to accept cash for walk-in reservations.
In accordance with our cancellation and prepayment policies, we are unable to refund payments processed prior to arrival for substitution on a different credit/debit card or cash payment at check-in. It is the guest’s responsibility to provide the correct credit/debit card account at or before 7 days prior to arrival.
We are truly sorry but we are not able to provide roll-away beds or cots. We may provide twin-sized air mattresses upon request; however, this is subject to availability.
We apologize we do not have any available cribs. Should you wish to bring your Pack N’ Play crib, please do.
No, all of our rooms are strictly non-smoking. There is a $200 fee for individuals that violate this policy.
We have designated locations for smoking around the property.
Overnight parking is free for hotel guests for the duration of their stay but up to a maximum of 2 cars per room. Registered day users may use our parking lot until sunset.
Hotels guests are limited to two cars per room booked.
We apologize but we do not have RV hookups or parking sites.
Check-in begins at 3:00pm and ends when the office closes for the evening. For late check-ins, please contact our office to make arrangements.

Yes, our locality observes a noise curfew from 10PM – 8AM daily.
Yes, we have package deals that are discounted. Because they are discounted, the particulars of the package (type of room, the number of nights and the type of boat) cannot be downgraded. If guest(s) modify the booking by decreasing the number of nights of the package, they will be subject to the standard room rack rates. If they cancel the boat ride, they will be subject to the standard room rack rates without the cost of the boat. If they downgrade the type of room, standard room rack rates will also apply.
Guarantee & Cancellations Policies
If you are booking more than seven (7) days prior to your arrival date you will only be charged USD $25 per room once you’ve submitted your reservation. If you are booking at or less than seven (7) days prior to your arrival date you will be charged the full balance.
The remaining balance (less the initial $25 charge) will be charged at or within seven (7) days prior to your arrival date.
If you have booked via our website, look for the cancellation link in the confirmation email or call us for assistance.
If you have booked via third party such as Expedia, Booking.com, etc., you must contact them directly to cancel your reservation.
Yes, our cancellation fee policy is as follows:
- All bookings cancelled seven (7) days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee equivalent to the total value of the reservation.
- Bookings cancelled more than seven (7) days prior to arrival will only incur a flat USD $25 fee, the equivalent of which was collected during the initial booking.
We understand that circumstances beyond your control may require you to cancel your reservation last minute. We are willing to work with guests on a case by case basis. Please give our office a call to discuss your circumstances as we may be able to offer you a credit towards a future stay.
In the case of a natural disaster directly impacting the Blue Lakes area, we will honor free cancellation or extend a credit towards a future stay at the guest’s discretion.
Pets
The Lodge at Blue Lakes is a dog-friendly resort. We ask that cats, pot-bellied pigs, birds, reptiles, livestock and other unique traveling companions find alternative accommodations.
For dogs under 50 lbs. the fee is USD $35+tax per dog, per night. For dogs over 50 lbs. the fee is USD $70+tax per dog, per night. There is a maximum of 2 dogs per room.
We allow up to 2 dogs per room. We require that you declare your dog(s) at the time of booking.
Yes, due to the terms of our insurance coverage policy we are unable to accept the following pure breeds and mixed breeds: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Presa Canario, Cane Corso, Mastiff, Bull Dog, Chow, and Akita.
We understand that travel plans can change when it comes to your furry companions. As such, pet fees will not be charged until check-in.
In compliance with the ADA, pet fees are not applicable to service dogs and we are happy to accommodate them in our rooms, boats, and all public areas of our establishment. We are also happy to accommodate emotional support dogs in all our rooms and public spaces; however, they will be subject to normal pet fees.
By law, our staff is allowed to ask if your pet is required because of a disability. They are also allowed to ask what work or task the service animal has been trained to perform. We ask that you do not abuse the laws in place to help people with disabilities.
Yes, we allow a maximum of two (2) dogs up to 50lbs on board our boats for an extra fee of $25 per dog. However, please be aware that additional fees may be applied if the boat requires extra cleaning upon return, e.g. excessive pet hair, mud, urine or fecal damage, etc. Extra cleaning fees will be collected from your security deposit. To avoid extra charges we encourage guests to thoroughly clean up after their pets before returning boat rentals.

Yes, fishing is allowed on Blue Lakes. Our lake is home to trout, bass, catfish, crappies, and bluegills to name a few. Guests and Day Users must have a valid fishing license issued by The California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.
Due to Covid-19, the pool will not re-open this year. To ensure everyone’s safety, it will be temporarily closed until further notice.
At the moment, we do not have a restaurant on-site. Please check our dining scenes nearby.

Day Pass
Day Pass is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM for a fee of $28 per person (children and adults) and $28 per dog, per day.
Day User guests are encouraged to bring their own ice, towels, chairs, picnic mats, etc., as we do not provide these items. We also cannot inflate inner tubes, floaties, and other accessories. Please ensure that your items are already inflated prior to arrival. You can also bring your own pump.
Day users can swim off our docks or in our beach. They can barbecue using our grills (BBQ use is a $10 fee for every 2 hours). They can sunbathe, have a picnic, fish from our docks, and clean their fish at our 2 designated fish cleaning stations. Day Users may also use the Waterfront Deck and our Blue Lakes Courtyard, however, this will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, unless the spaces have been reserved exclusively for an event.
For the health and safety of our guests, guests are advised to bring their own BBQ grill utensils. Guests may also purchase BBQ grill utensils in our office.
Boat Rentals
You may reserve boats online, via phone, or in person. To book online, simply click on the boat you’d like to rent from our boats page and follow the next steps.
A security deposit of USD $500 will be collected at the time of departure. We accept debit/ credit cards as well as cash for the deposit. Please be aware that your deposit will be released depending on your bank’s policy, which may take up to 7 business days. Please plan accordingly.
If the boat requires extra cleaning upon return, e.g. litter, mud or damage, etc., we will need to collect extra cleaning fees from your security deposit. To avoid extra charges, we encourage guests to thoroughly clean up before returning boat rentals.
Boat rentals begin at 9:00 AM daily. All boats must be returned to docks before sunset. Our final departure time varies depending on the season. Our general rule of thumb is that departures are allowed until two hours prior to sunset.
Since our boats are electric, they need to be charged. To use one of our boats for longer than six hours we recommend renting the Admiral Peter, Magic, Blue Lakes Paradise, New Orca, Party Time, Electric Cat, and Electric Duffy. Please see our boats page for more information.
We have different boats with different weight capacities. Refer to our boats page for maximum weight capacities. Keep in mind the weight of ice coolers and fishing gear are included in weight capacities.
Yes, children will be counted towards the maximum number of passengers. Infants up to 2 years old are generally not counted.

Our boats reach a maximum speed of approximately 5 MPH. Blue Lakes has a no-wake policy, and our boats comply with this requirement.
All our boats are 100% electric-powered, no gas needed!
We do not allow inner tubes and floats to be pulled behind our boats. It’s not safe and can damage the boat. Guests will be liable to pay the cost of damage if the rope gets stuck in the boat’s propeller.
Only kayaks and paddle boards are allowed to be launched from our resort. Each guest must purchase a day use pass and pay a launching fee (The launch fee is $10). For safety reasons, our staff are not permitted to assist in launching your kayaks and paddleboards. Customers must be able to carry their own kayak from their vehicle to the water and back. Additionally, guests must bring their own life vests and will be required to wear it before they’re allowed to launch their own watercraft.
We do not offer docking and launching of personal boats or another watercraft.
Boat renters, who wish to stay after their boat rental time is completed, may buy Day Use Passes at $25 per person and/or per dog to stay longer and enjoy the amenities of the resort.
Yes, you can bring one cooler on board per boat. Please keep in mind the weight of coolers contributes to the maximum weight capacity of each boat.
Fishing
Absolutely! California offers three varieties of fishing licenses: the one-day permit, which costs $17.02; the two-day, which is valid for residents and non-residents and costs $26.49; and the 10-day, which is suitable for non-resident anglers only, which costs $49.94.
Yes. Every individual who is 16 years old above is required to have a valid fishing license when catching any fish, shellfish, reptile, or amphibian in California. You can avail yourself of the one-day fishing permit through CDFW’s Automated License Data System.
If you’re just on holiday vacation and would like to try fishing, you could avail yourself of Short Term Sport Fishing Licenses. If you’re looking to fish all year long, you might as well avail any of the Annual Sport Fishing Licenses.
You can acquire any of the licenses at a California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) office, through an authorized license sales office, or online through CDFW’s Automated License Data System.
The Lodge at Blue Lakes sell fishing rods and baits. You may purchase them from our office.
Yes. You can grill up your catch on our outdoor BBQ pits. However, if you are not a guest of The Lodge at Blue Lakes, you’ll need to avail yourself of the Day Pass to use the resort’s facilities.
